Barbara Fiero
Barbara Fiero has actively participated in all aspects of the procurement process; conducted numerous contract negotiations; explained the applicability, scope, and, compliance requirements of government contract terms, regulations, and laws; drafted bid protests, and represented clients in claims/disputes. Besides her lengthy legal experience encompassing private practice, corporate in-house counsel, and government counsel, she also has experience as a Contracting Officer. Over the last seven years, she has spent more time helping small businesses with their government contract legal needs. In total, she has over 20 years of experience with federal, state, and local procurements.
A large portion of Barbara Fiero’s prior work experience has involved cradle-to-grave support for various government opportunities. She has experience working through various pre- and post- award issues as well as other contract issues, including, in certain cases, through the avoidance of any administrative or court proceeding. Having worked in-house in the government contracts space for two large companies in the past and at the Treasury at the height of the 2008 financial crisis, she understands the interaction between the different parts within an organization, their competing interests, and their need to coordinate and work together to provide a win-win solution while minimizing the solution’s risks/liabilities to the entire organization. She believes clear communication and timeliness are important aspects to the success of any engagement.
Barbara Fiero graduated from the George Washington University School of Law in 1996 and is licensed to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
